Just had a fantastic couple of hours taking off the dash veneer panels on the 450SE to get at the lamps in the instrument clusters.

What a laff ! - Not!, my fingers are cut and bruised to bits after trying to undo the rusty bolts that hold the lot together from up under the dash.

Cannot wait to put it all back together again in a day or two.

I was thinking of sending a small boy up behind the dash to get everything done up again but this would probably be illegal! - and besides he has still got to finish cleaning the chimney

You could alway train a Hedgehog I understand you could get a EU grant and them hire him out to other poor soles

might be easier to take the whole dash off, it certainly is on the 350 / flat dash type

Ha, tried that on the 350i vowed to never take the dash off ever again.

It was quite funny when I had the 350i the entire dash rattled so I thought I would stop it once and for all and take the dash off fix everything and then put it back.

So there I was standing in the car with the roof off managed to undo all of the bolts etc that keep the dash on.

Managed to lift the dash free only to find that it absolutely weighed a ton and I still had wires and cable attached to the back so i could not lift it free.

Had to shout to my next door neighbour to give a hand before the whole thing came crashing down.

Did the job and put the whole lot back together again 110% better than before.

If you can't get a Hedgehog, you could try a Lion. And, if you're going to hire anything out to soles, you might try 'eels. But, when it comes to refitting a dash, I fear they'd be "fish out of water".

Tried Eels but they dont do what they told. Still got one stuck in the demist vent makes a horrid smell!! or is that Burning Bridgestones???????
