F30 and Android Auto

Hi all,

Ive not spec'd Car Play on my new car (and there isn't even the option for Android Auto) and find the iDrive connectivity terrible. Frequently doesn't connect, won't play music, make calls etc. This is if I connect via Bluetooth or usb.

Anyone else have similar or find a better way of working without AA?

Phone is a Pixel 2xl and car has pro nav, HK audio

similar issues, same phone and set up!

All worked fine on my iphone, extended apps like spotify were great, seems theres no interest in sorting it for android as yet!

Got an Alcarel U5 than runs Android and I have no problem with BT connection in my F30.

In my mate's F80 M4 that's fine if the phone is plugged into one of the USBs. Spotify is quite good in that mode.

Otherwise, I doubt it.

At least it's not just me. I've just had a Focus and Astra as hire cars and both where infinitely better and had AA. Considering my car costs the same as then both together, it's disappointing that there ICE is better

I've always found BMW ICE to be poor compared to Ford and Volvo; the latter did have ties with Dynaudio though! I'm in the process of adding Android Auto to my E46. Changing the headunit alone in my case brought across some benefits, but I can understand it's not for everyone .
