Hi guys,

I found some muffler bypass pipes for the 993TT - claims are reduced lag (because of back pressure after the turbo) and better noise as well as a massive weight reduction.

Now i know these things will be a little rumbly at idle because the turbos aren't doing much, but what are they like when you're rolling down the motorway, or on boost? Shouldn't be that loud, right?

Help!

VS

(i know, i know, i've had it 4 days and i'm talking about exhausts already...)

By pass pipes are a great sound, lighter because you junk the silencers, and best part, run much cooler under the rear wings.made no differance to the normal bull claims to power or lag.
Have been using them on my 993gt2 for some 5 years now.
JC heard mine and had a set with in a couple of weeks.

VS, before you go ahead with the pipes, do a search for them on Rennlist.....some have found them to reduce power.

Maybe a load of rubbish, but it is worth reading!

VS,
I bought a set very soon after I got my 993TT and really love the sound, which although pretty loud outside does not bother me in the car at motorway speeds.Obviously you save a bit of weight by discarding the OEM silencers. By the way, am enjoying the Xenon lights, thanks.

Same here; I like the sound. They're noisier at idle particularly when cold. My only complaint is a slight drone between 2500 and 3000 at steady throttle. The cure: drive faster! I didn't notice any change in the power; thecats are probably more restrictive than the factory exhaust boxes.
