Just sold the elise, an absolutely beautiful car it has to be said and served me very well

but this is what I've always really been after......my all time favourite 911.

Been after this car for years and finally managed to get my grubby little hands on it.....did Silverstone last week and that was a revelation...hello to all that I met there...booked up for Spa in May ( thanks Johnny Senna )...look forward to getting well n totally embroiled in RS ownership.

cheers,

jimmy

Ah, if it's Vic's old car (little blue rather than big blue) then it's a riviera blue 993 RS with a biplane rear wing.
Do i get a Mars bar?

Jimmy Riviera......the pics have stopped working this morning. If you have a problem with your picture hoster, you could e-mail them to me and I'll put them up for you?? The car is simply too nice not to have pics up on the board.

Hmmm not sure as to why the links aren't working..they were there, maybe as part of the " maintenance " they've been doing on the website they've pulled them off....will try again and if no luck then I'll send the pics over to you Johnny.

Yep VS...absolutely spot on...you're going to Ace Cafe on Monday aren't you ?? I'll bring a mars bar along then.

vic..just thrown a silly amount of money zymols way so hoping to keep the viagra glistening. yeah thought about that for name...Jimmy Riviera sounds like a high-brow pornstar name whereas Benny Viagra sounds like a character you'd find in one of Ben Dover's productions !

Jimmy is nickname at work...( surname Savill ) so some sense in it.

Johnny...more than happy to while away the hours extolling the benefits of 993 RS ownership at Spa..CANNOT wait for those couple of days. Might be interested in this BBS group buy...thinking of getting the speedlines re-furbed and saving for sunday best.

cheers.

Good stuff Jimmy, can't wait for Spa.

Feel free to e-mail the pics, although I'm off to Bedford on Friday morning, so maybe do it before then??

Have always had a soft spot for the 993 RS/RSR, what actually is the difference between the 2, apart from obvious wing etc.. is the RSR equivalent of todays clubsport.?

There are quite a few differences. The 993 RS CS is relatively speaking a more focussed partner to the 993 RS comfort than is the GT3 Clubsport compared to the GT3 Comfort.

The 993 RS Clubsport was called RSR in the UK, which leads to confusion with the racing versions I think, but never mind. It has a full welded in Matter cage (my favourite bit), harnesses, no carpet, engine cut off switch, the big wing/front splitter, steel syncro rings in the gear box, a shorter 5th gear (according to my handbook)......errrr, and mine has a cooling pipe to blow cool air onto the driver, situated just to the left of the steering wheel next to the engine cut out switch....did all Clubsports have this? Also, was the suspension more adjustable? Dunno. Burzel would know this.

Mine wasn't built as a Clubsport by the way, it started life as an RS Comfort and Porsche did all the above work for the first owner who must have been worth a couple of DMs.

Your profile pic is stunning mate, that really is one of my favourite 911s of all time.. had a 993 turbo a while back, just never made it into an RSR..

Am collecting the GT3 today, as long as new discs arrive, and shall be gloating later.

Cheers
Rob

Hmmm, so maybe not a standard feature on the Clubsport then.
