dash board lights

alright all,
after just getting a new radiator for my beloved the dash board lights are now not working. Had a fiddle with the light switch at the side of the steerring rack but that has not helped. Any ideas as to what may be the problem? blown bulb? something more sinister maybe?
If it is a bulb, is it a dash off job to replace?

thanks for advise but unfortunately i dont have the bible! have had a few problems with the car recently as the alarm and central locking are also not working so i may have a look a the fuse box.
If not a fuse any ideas?

Pull out the switch and change one of the spade connectors to another connector on the switch (if that makes sense) Worked for me anyway.

doesnt appear to be a fuse so looks like i am going to have to have the dash off. Whats the best way of doing that without damaging anything?

Theres a button under the dashboard normally to the left of the steering wheel - push that and see what happens.

It did the trick on mine.

Check there is a voltage at the fuse first.

For someone who doesn't know the difference between a steering rack and a steering column; take it to a dealer!

Getting the dash out is fiddly but as long as you are bendy and don't mind a bit of glass rash pretty straightforward. There is a good thread on here somewhere covering it step by step - hit the search engine!

On mine & in general, OTOMH

clock/light fuse -- red -- light switch -- red white -- dash on/off switch --- red white --- dash lights

Easing out the defeat switch should make diagnosis easy, since the connectors are easily accessed.

thanks to you guys for the advice however, Just read the thread on " the button by the left knee" and it appears that can swith the dash lights on and off! Think i'll try that first before i try any heroics with the dash off! If that fails i'll be back!
