Melted blade fuse...any ideas?

Hi

My dipped headlight blade fuse casing is melted, the fuse is in tact & not broken, however it has got so hot that it melted the casing of the blade fuse.

Any ideas what causes this ?
I have standard headlights & standard wiring on the stalks etc so am not sure what to do to resolve it.

I would guess poor contact between the fuse and the holder.

Ok thanks, my first attempt will be to cut the cables at the fuse box & wire in a new in line blade fuse holder & fuse, then see what happens.
