I've got a 58 plate Scirocco TSI and I'm looking for some advice on a potential remap.

Is there anything I should change as preventative maintenance prior to the remap? It is fitted with the EA888 engine btw.

Is it common practice for instance to change the diverter valve or anything else to make sure you're starting with as good a base as possible?

Second of all I'm based in Bury St Edmunds, is there anybody close to me that any of you would recommend to do the work?

Thanks in advance.

I had our Passat done, same engine.

The concerns were camshaft timing chain and oil pick up pipe.
I had the timing chain kit fitted before the re-map and the pick up pipe had been replaced by them not too long before.

The actual power figure was disappointing but the increase in torque is very noticeable.

225 bhp. 298 lb/ft.

Thanks for the info eddy. I was thinking about having the timing chain done as a precautionary measure as there is no history of it being done as of yet and it's now on about 94k.
I had a drive in a mapped TT 2.0TSI a couple weeks ago and realised what my car is missing so thought that this option would be cheaper than selling up and buying something else to keep me interested as i so often do!
If you don't mind answering, who did the mapping on your Passat?
