Who really grinds your gears?

I cant stand gemma collins, awful human being who has completely let herself go which i find disgusting as it is.

But she seems to think she is the bees knees, she has a awful personality where she likes to put people down if they are not 'normal' and she seems to think she should have someone incredibly good looking person and turns down people because they are not up to her standard.

Awful, makes me cringe.

Who do you find awful?

If the only possible answer to "So who are they?" is "They're a slebriteeeeee", then... absofkinglutely.

What happened to being famous because of actual accomplishments?

And This.

And Billy Bragg. Horrible, smug, hypocritical and whiny arse . The people who buy his records want tracking down and their ears ripping off as they quite clearly have no use for them in life.

Donald Trump regardless of the fact he has been elected doesn't qualify as politician. A sad indictment of how celebrity obsessed our culture has become.

As above.

I'm incredibly bored of people 'being famous' for 'being famous', and not because they actually accomplished anything of any value.

It appears that to become a huge celebrity you just have to manage to get yourself onto some horrific reality TV show or build a social media following.

It requires no talent, skills or long term effort.

That's pretty much it.

The value of people's talents has changed massively though in the last few years, and you now have kids in their bedrooms making silly videos who are earning more money and becoming more of a celebrity than Hollywood stars who have spent their entire lives working in cinema and stage, or people like David Attenborough who have devoted their lives to showing us amazing things.

You could get stuck in a loop trying to work out why people are 'famous' these days:

"She's a massive celebrity"

"Why? What is she famous for?"

"She just is. She's a celebrity."

"But why? What has she ever done"

"She's massive, she's been on Love Island"

"Yes but why is she so famous, she must have done something?"

"She's got millions of followers on instagram and she gets paid a fortune to wear clothes by designers"

"But why???"

Etc

The only celebrity that I can think of that I didn't like, was Bruce Forsyth, I won't elaborate, it was no big deal, and he's dead now, so that's that.
What I did do though, when I was driving a Black Cab in London, was take a perverse delight in blanking anyone well known who hailed me, I don't mean not pick them up, (although I did swerve Forsyth once), I mean effect an "I have no idea who you are" stance.
I'd pull over, they'd say "BBC studios" or "Dorchester Hotel, please", and I'd just nod, and drive them to their destination in silence, take the fare, say "Thanks", and drive off.

Just being related to someone famous seems to make people a "celebrity" these days.

I've heard a few people say he wasn't a particularly nice person. Cilla Black was also, by many accounts, thoroughly unpleasant.
