I don't use my car on salty/muddy roads, but on the other hand I do try to get it out as often as possible, and having received significant investment, the underside is so clean and all the suspension/brakes etc are so good I really want to keep them that way for as long as possible.

Its inevitable they get wet on occasion.

Has anyone used any underbody surfaces protection?

Is that really the way to go with a 355?

Any thoughts, suggestions and experiences - be glad to have them!! ears

I would be very careful about spraying a wax or underseal type product over the underside of a nice clean 355.

A product that was recommended to me for keeping metal parts 'concours' is Duck Oil. (http://www.swarfega.com/workplace/products/sdo5l) It's clear and thin enough to show off how clean the underside is whilst offering a decent level of protect.

My indy applies some kind of wax to the suspension bits of my 550 to protect them. He strips the wax off at each service to inspect, then reapplies.

Don't know what it is, but it's not a semi-permanent thing like waxoyl or whatever

You could try Eastwood Exo-Armour. I've been trying to find it in the UK, but appears out of stock.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys...

The Exo-Armour is more the kind of thing I was thinking of - unobtrusive, not messy, but hopefully effective.....

My lower subframe has been stripped and recoated in factory finish, but that too really wants some sort of additional protection.

Ideally something which isnt going to need to be stripped and re-applied every year as I dont use the car in all weathers.

Bilt hamber do a spray on clear rust protection which is excellent. Apply on a warm dry day on ramps. (And wear disposable paper suit, goggles and hat lol)
Once it's dried on you can see everything is rust free and clean rather than covered in black gunk
