After any advice; I’m after a 65” TV for my brother in law... he doesn’t game or watch a lot of sport; so the motion issues that plague some sets, aren’t as much of a concern.

Looking to spend around the £800 mark (ish) or less. I bought a Hisense 65” TV a year or so ago and it’s been fantastic; my brother in law always comments on it. He’s had some bad news recently and want to get him something similar as a pick-me-up.

Was about to go for the Toshiba 65U6763 - but the Richer Sounds chap said to avoid and go for a more expensive Hisense. Reviews of that Toshiba seem pretty good though; what to do?

Toshiba:

Or a Samsung?:

Or any of the Hisense range??

I just had a look at the 40 and 50 inch versions of this at lunchtime. They're pretty good IMHO.

I’ve ended up paying the little extra and getting the Samsung. It’s a kind of ‘better the devil you know’ scenario, in as much as - can’t really go wrong with one.

The Toshiba reviews seemed good and some of the Hisense reviews were very good also. But he’ll be over the moon with the Samsung (I hope!)

I’m not an “av guy” but I’ve always had samsung tv’s and the only issue I had with one was the 50” plasma died after 8 years. Don’t think you can go wrong.
