Any 911 (1987-89) 3.2 Carrera Sport Coupe's
Discussion
I've never driven a 915 but the info that I have is that they're either great or awful whereas G50s are mostly great and more reliably so.
Having just sold a G50 Targa and bought a G50 Coupe (for obvious reasons - noise too much in the end) I have to say that one of the first questions people ask is whether it's a G50 - so from a pure sellability point of view that's worth baring in mind.

Well, they're talking out of their arse. The most important thing is whether the car is rotten or not. Gearbox rebuild or a couple of front wings?....90% of the buyers care about the cosmetics, not whether the gearbox is hydraulic or cable...
Oh dear, sore point I think!
It just happens to be a favourite on peoples 3.2 shopping list - obviously no one's going to buy a rotten G50 over a nice 915 but let's face it Porsche upgraded the gearbox for a reason and that reason was to make the car more future-proof.
To quote Tony Corletts book, "The G50 unit was a far more efficiently-designed unit, and substantially improved ease of operation and gear shift throw"

I've already owned a 3.2 Carrera Sport Coupe, whisch I sold for a 993 (don't no why!!!)
Now trying to find another decent 3.2 but ideally Silver!!!
Keep those recommendations coming
Henry's got a nice red one!! (911 Virgin)..I also went from 3.2 to 993 and never regretted it.
Mind you it was a 915..and yes, a bit of a pig when cold, but I loved it! (especially going backwards round Goodwood..
)Good luck...Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
