A cross post from SELOC, but I know a few dealers and people in 'the know' hang out here, so:

Funding my next toy, the Elise is off to Sinclaires this weekend to be sold (hopefully).

I need to decide how much to put the little thing up for - I don't want it sitting around for months but equally don't want to give it away.

Spec:

52 reg
Sports Tourer
13,000 miles
Gunmetal Grey
Silver OZs
Sports exhaust, cat pipe etc (plus OEM parts)
Black leather interior.

Its tidy but has the normal stone chips.

What do you think? £17,500ono? Or is that pushing it a bit?

Opinions gratefully received!

yeah, its looking like £17,000 ish. Worst financial descision of my life that one - £20,500 18 months ago!

Never mind, it was fun and I'm moving on to other (faster) things

Pfft - if this is your worst car buying decision, you'll do well!

I bought a GTV for 9k, and sold it on six months later for 6! £3.5k over 18 months on a car is nothing (particularly if the car is expensive to start with). Hell, even the current cheap BM has lost 2k over the last 7 months or so, and given that was 8k to start with I'm doing much worse in percentage terms!

Edited to add: cant say much about the price of Elises, but going by my "a VX is 2k less than the same age Elise" rough rule of thumb, it'd be up at around 16.5-17k

It was meant with a bit of a pinch of salt Dan - not a great financial descision but good fun!

It looks like it will go up for 17 and I'll see what happens Roll on M5!

Ive gone for £16,995. Hopefully being below 17 and having the desirable (read: expensive) motorsport wheels will see it sold.

Thanks all for the opinions
