I can just it now, in a year or twos time, they'll be selling us the 45 and 75 for Daewoo prices, and we'll be lapping them up, saying how great they are! I fear we have had our pride and resolve drained from us due to weak, lilly livered governments who seem to enjoy squeezing the life out of our country, still, at least a few are OK, that's what's important, isn't it!
It's funny how everything's reversed in recent years. In the past, Britain used to buy cheap tat from China (fluffy dice, and the like). Nowadays, China is "out negotiating" us and the Russians are buying UK institutions.
I wonder if one day Britain will produce tat (ala, crystal winged-horses) and be selling such stuff to the affluent Chinese? I think we're witnessing a major reversal of fortune, encouraged by ridiculous Government legislation.

One thought: The Vauxhall, Jaguar, & TVR at least are still built in the UK; right? The MG-Rover would be the first to not be....unless the Chinese keep it in the UK.
Its worth bearing in mind that throughout known history, apart from the last century, China has been the major economic power in the world. We tend to think of them as commie peasants, but this is a serious mistake!
All we are seeing is a reversion to the norm, which will continue until the Chinese are once again the major power, and we are diddly squat.
And why not, there are an awful lot of Chinese after all.
We seem to be accelerating the process by destroying our own manufacturing base voluntarily, but hey, I'm sure Billy Boy knows what he's doing. He knows best.

When times get tough, you can't guarantee the jobs stay. This whole thing has made us more vulnerable to economic fluctuations not less.

I agree 100%. I was just thinking that it is at least better to have the jobs and no control than nothing at all. However, it is depressing overall. I see it as a chipping away of our western culture. People will say, "THE WORLD IS GLOBAL, DON'T BE SO NATIONALISTIC". Well, "they" are being very nationalistic, maybe "we" should start back ourselves.
It is sad and at least having bought an MGtf for the wife with my own money I can say I did my bit. This has been coming for years,we have been hell bent on destroying the country, first the landed gentry,then the wars, then the unions, then the lazy gits who want paying for nothing, then the politicians and now the chinese have all helped us along this road. We have no manufacturing to speak of and now a Comunist goverment out witing the capatilists and getting exactly what they want for very little. As some one said soon we will have the full range better built and cheaper and will buy them in our droves.
