For a while now I've been eyeing up 981 Cayman GTS'. I knew what I was after, but with so few around I struggled to find exactly what I wanted, so once I found one, I knew I had to have it. I previously had a Cayman S, so was interested to see how different the GTS was. Happy to say that just about every aspect of it feels a little bit more special and improved. I also REALLY love the Sapphire Blue paint with the shiny gloss black trim bits.

I've not had it long yet, only done a few journeys, but definitely very happy with the decision to swap a car I liked for another which is ostensibly the same! biggrin

Congratulations!!! I would pick the same colour for a GTS. Out of interest, how much better does it feel cf S. was yours fully spec'ced?

I was considering it but I have buckets and PCCB and almost every possible option on my S inc PTV, PSE etc.

Thanks

Obviously it’s not a night and day type difference, but it feels to me just all round a little more exciting. My S wasn’t as well optioned as yours, so for example I didn’t have the sports exhaust, which I think makes a big difference. It might be a placebo thing but the GTS’ steering feels slightly more spot on, too. There’s obviously a tiny power and torque increase which between that and/or the throttle or delivery of it makes it feel a bit more punchy. I also didn’t have Sports Chrono before, so that’s another thing. Also on my S the interior was leather and plastic, whereas the GTS is a mix of alcantara, leather, and carbon fibre, and I’ve got light grey contrast stitching on the seats, and strips down the edges of the seatbelts; so it feels like a much nicer place to sit.

I've booked with PCGB for Brands Hatch (evening), Silverstone, Castle Combe, and for some reason Anglesey (not thrilled about the distance, but only ever heard good things about the circuit, felt obliged to give it a go).

How about you?

Got 3 Goodwoods! And Blyton booked at mo, begged to try Brands again but they won’t have it in a GT4 still.

could be tempted by CC or Anglesey though.

Will let you know.

That's the plan! biggrin Because this purchase was a TEENY bit impulsive, it unfortunately arrived at quite a bad time. The day after it was delivered I went away on holiday for a week. Then once back I had some family visits planned, then had a normal week at work, I'm out tomorrow a bit, so fingers crossed this Sunday I'll finally get a chance to give it a proper blast. I'm looking forward to my first Launch Control!

The very best colour for a GTS. Not that I’m biased in any way at all. Congratulations.

I picked up my Boxster GTS in September last year and was at the PCGB Castle Combe track day on 19th October seeing it was our wedding anniversary.. Sadly it was biblically wet so I plan to be at CC again in June - fingers crossed for a dry track.

Also planning to do more PCGB plus Silverstone days this year.

Might be an idea to coordinate a day or two...

Hey! Great colour choice. Happy to hear the 718s are available in the same colour. As for Waitrose, no, I'm afraid that wasn't me. The only supermarket I've been to since getting the GTS was a humble Tesco visit.

You should phone and check, as I believe Silverstone was booking up fast. I'm only doing the afternoon there. It's full GP circuit though, which is pretty good! I did Castle Combe in the dry last year and really loved it. Brilliant track! Of course the best part was driving through a tiny place called 'Tiddleywink' on the way there!
