Folks, advice needed..

I had the dosh sorted for a GP2 Mini but it got snapped up before I could pull the trigger. I've got £15k burning a hole in my pocket for something that isn't going to depreciate like a stone but will give me some laughs while also being usable on a daily basis. Also interested in something I can give a little tickle to when I get bored in a couple of years.

The GP2 pretty much fits the bill perfectly given it's likelihood of tanking in value being pretty low but the good ones (apart from the one I missed out on) are out of budget.

Criteria are:

Fun
30MPG+
2 seats essential, more wouldn't hurt
£15k
Depreciation resistant.

There's some really interesting stuff just outside of the price range (Megane Cup-S, Golf Mk7 R) but not much under 15 grand. M135i is interesting but I think the Mini would be more fun.

Willys Jeep - bit of a dumb suggestion though as they are nearer 20k for a decent one. but they do appreciate, regardless of miles on them.

FD2 civic type R.

£15k is bang on the money, and they're only going up in value.

Your suggestions Golf R, Megane RS, Mini GP are not what I’d call fun nor depreciation resistant.

VX220
S2000
E46 M3
CLK 55 / 63
CLS55
S1 Elise

ETA didn’t see the 30mpg, but really? Work out the cost, it’s negligible in the total cost of ownership.

Caterham / Westfield - buy a good one and you will not lose money. My V8 has gone up in value in the last 12 months - admittedly not doing 30mpg though

I’m not sure the criteria “2 seats essential” is needed seeing as you’re after a car. confused

Anyway, a nice early 996 could fit the bill. Getting hard to get under £15k as they’re getting a lot of press these days, but a Carrera 3.4 manual would be perfect provided you can keep it maintained.

Cayman perhaps?

2.7 seems to be the safest bet of them all - pretty low prices these days but surely can't drop hugely?

What about a decent 182 Trophy? Even an immaculate, low-miles example one will cost alot less than £15k. You can use the change to keep it tip-top.

Cheers for suggestions folks. I think I'm leaning towards a hot hatch - will update accordingly!
