Squeaky M performance brakes anyone?
Discussion
I have and my car has been back to the dealer and they admitted a bad batch of rear M performance pads which mine had as the rear pads were breaking down. The good news is they kindly replaced them under warranty. Despite that, unfortunately the breaks are squeaking again. The car is back at the dealer for something else at the moment and I've mentioned the reoccurrence of the squeak, so it will be interesting to see if they do anything or dismiss the problem.
Anyone else have squeaky M performance breaks and found a solution?

You mean M Sport+, the ones with blue calipers ?
We've a 2016 435d with MS+ and a 2017 335d without MS+.
Both are on around 13k miles and are squeaking a low speed. Not been back to the dealer yet but useful to see yours were fixed under warranty.
Yes indeed they are the blue callipers. And yes the rear pads were replaced under warranty but the squeak has come back. It could be the front now as its hard to tell. We've a 2016 435d with MS+ and a 2017 335d without MS+.

I thought it was interesting when the service guy didn't take any interest when I mentioned the breaks and said that its quite normal to have squeaky brakes. I said not and I would not expect brakes to squeak on any mass produced car in 2018. But as soon as I said there is lots of chat on forums he started paying attention and he admitted that there was a problem.
Try putting them through some hard braking cycles. The pad material is probably a little harder than standard and they may well have glazed a little. It’s typical of a hard pad like a pagid yellow for example to glaze and squeal with road use. Some heavy applications usually clears it.

I'll give this a try this weekend !Dealers lead time for booking in is 3 weeks !
Just picked up my car from Sytner High Wycombe and they have replaced my front disks and pads at no cost so hopefully that should solve the problem. Impressive service and thank you to Carl in the bodyshop for sorting out the paint defect and mentioning the squeaky brakes to the service department, all fixed at no cost to me!
And thank you also to E-bmw for the extra lesson on how to spell. Having struggled for 46 years with severe Dyslexia its always nice to be pulled up on my spelling and grammar so apologies if my 'break' or 'brake' caused offence. I will try harder next time.

Front pads replaced under warranty on my 440i for the same reason - one of them had actually cracked. Now have the same issue, 1k after replacement, with the new pads.
Friendly service manager admitted that it is a widely known issue and they've done similar on a large number of cars. I guess this must be true given I had the shortest ever booking-in conversation when I first called them up;
Me - 'Hi lovely service desk lady, I've got bad brake squeak at low speeds on my 440i'.
Lovely Service Desk Lady - 'Ah yes, known issue, we can take it in next Thursday - do you need a courtesy car?'
Me - 'Yes please, I'll drop the car off at 8'.
Lovely Service Desk Lady - 'Excellent, see you then, have a lovely day, bye'

Appreciate it's been a few months since the original post, but just sharing my recent experience with my 330d touring - M-sport brakes with blue callipers etc etc.
My car has done 16k, and the squeak is more of a squeal at very low speed when coming to a halt (mainly in traffic). Originally I took it to a local dealer who said there was no fault and I needed to 'brake harder', which I found to be strange advice - it certainly didn't work either. After a few sessions of hard braking, the squeal was back again. I then booked it with a different dealership, and the technician very much acknowledged that this is common with these type of brakes. His suggestion was to strip the brakes, clean/lubricate them, and put them back. A week later, and no squeal. However, he also said that it's likely to return within a month or two. At which point I should book the car in again and then they would call BMW to advise a potential brake replacement.
Interestingly, BMW didn't want to pay for the brake clean - they advised that because the car had done 16k they wouldn't authorise payment for a clean. Seeing as it was £140, I thought that was poor on their part - especially as this is a known problem. As it happened, the dealership very kindly absorbed the cost.
So, if the squeal returns I'm booking the car back in straight away. People on other posts who have advised that this squealing is 'normal' are missing the point. If I wanted more squealing in my house I'd have another kid - not buy a £40k car......

My second bout of squeaking - see post above - got so bad I booked it in to the dealer again. They 'de-glazed' the front pads which had 'glazed very badly' apparently. Huge improvement, the squeaking disappeared until last week - first signs of a very minor squeak at slow speeds.
Let's see if it gets any worse.
