Standard tyres size

Can anyone tell me the spec for the standard tyres as fitted to the OZ 8 spoke wheels please (215/60 x 15 for example)?

Just checking my 215 40 17 equate to the same rolling cirumference and they are approx 1.3% under which is fine.

205 profile would have been an exact match!

I think you'll find that they were originally fitted as follows

S1, S2, S3 and S4 - 205/60VR15
V8S - 205/60ZR15

Incidently, the bible says that S1 were fitted with 205/60VR14, but I'm pretty sure that's a misprint.

I know that good performance tyres in these sizes are difficult to get. That's why many people fit 205/55 tyres.

I tried the Continental Sport Contact which were available in this size and I'm very happy with them.

I think the original fit was 205/60/15, but it's fairly common to fit 205/55/15. Personally wouldn't recommend going wider than 205 on those rims but that isn't what you were asking ...

Not particularly, but if the differing sizes are because you have different brands/types front and rear then that could potentially affect the handling.

That's right Chris and the reason why I was thinking of upping my tyres from 40 (17") to 50.

I think there is room in the arches and it won't make an enormous difference on gearing and speedo but should help me clear those *!--***!! speed ramps!

I tried 55 profile on the front, and 60 on the rear. It certainly looked better, but I found ground clearance a problem.
Car rides much better with 60 all round, plus the ground clearance now is much more acceptable.

Just for info im running 225 50 16 on the rear atm
