Been seeing an unknown on my way into work since I started working in shepton mallet (meaning i see eastbound on the a362 at about quarter past 8)

Its got a real american style hot rod look to it. Starting point for a description would be like this

but give it a roof, deepen those front wings right round the front of the wheels to give the front a sort of bat like appearance, smooth it out a touch. And make it purple.

So, anyone know what im seeing? or is it likely to be a custom? Its whatever it is

Sounds like it might be a 1934 Ford 3 window coupe as per the old ZZ Top 'Eliminator' car.

None of the pics above. It has a grille not entirely dissimilar to the merlin though...

Are you sure it had a roof?

Wasn't a Plymouth Prowler was it?

I have never actually decided whether I like the Prowler or not!

Saw one in the flesh once, and thought "wow!... love it!"

Saw a similar quality one on another day and thought "Nah.... not my style really..."

yes it has a roof. and its nowhere near the style of that prowler. More like classic hot rod style

Merlin looks to be pretty close actually (goes pic hunting)

The overall shape is not a million miles from the 34 3-window, but the grille was much more like the merlin, and the whole car, well... it shall have to wait till i have a digital camera i suppose

another clue its on white/yellow style plates.

Beginning BA, ending with K. I tried to remember on the way home but unfortunately my attention was diverted by an errant mpv driver

is that BA as in the new BA04 style or BAx ###K?

Yellow plates are required for anything post 73 so that doesn't help narrow it down (other than to say it is a kit-car)
