How to take care of my 911 till kingdomcome
Discussion
Hello my first post here. I just ordered a black 991.2 C4GTS which will arrive in april. I do plan to keep this car for as long as it drives so I just want some tips on how to take care of the car to make it last as long as possible.
Some questions:
Do I have to break in the engine?
If yes for how long?
When should I change PCCB pads and rotors?
And are OEM pads sufficiently good?
I wanted to peel the stone guard off because it looks funny, is that a bad idea?
General Do’s and don’ts
Thanks!
Ps. I live in a tropical country

Welcome.
Yes, you need to break in the engine. Owners manual gives guidance on mileage. Not sure if your tropical home is km or mile based but it's about 1800 miles in the UK.
Change the PCCB pads and rotors? Depends on how you're using it but find out what the replacement cost is and that might temper your enthusiasm before anything else.
You can peel the stone guard off but chipped paints looks even funnier.
Other than that - keep children out the car, don't eat food in it, don't go off roading in it.

For my new 981 Spyder I followed these guidelines - under 4000 rpm for first 2000 miles (3500km):-
