dead db9 - help!

Just uncovered my DB9 to find the battery was dead, ive bought a replacement and fitted this, ive pressed the battery reset and now i have a lot of lights and no ability to start, not even move the seats - can someone help?

If memory serves me...isn’t there a rest button under the drivers side rear seat?
The seat is held in via Velcro.....try it....you have nothing to loose....

I pulled this answer from the inter web:

"It may be worth while trying the battery reconnect button which is located under the drivers side rear seat cusion.
Pull the seat cushion forward firmly and you should see a 10 pence piece size hole with a red or yellow button inside.Hold this button down for a few seconds and the battery will fully reconnect.
If you problem persist's try a reset as follows (suggested by Astoon Martin)
Remove ignition key and lock car with fob. Leave for 5 mins. Open car with fob and press and hold down the battery reconnect button mentioned previously. With the button held down, turn on the ignition and hold the button down for a few more seconds. Turn off ignition, remove key and lock car with fob. Leave for 5 mins. Reset complete....according to Aston Martin."

You could try pressing the battery disconnect switch in the boot (next to the conditioner socket) and then try pressing the reset under the rear seat above the battery compartment again.

There are some good videos to watch on youtube (aston 1936) who talks you through battery replacement, how to get the seats working again, window re-alignment etc.

ive given those suggestions a try and its still failing, if i keep my finger on the yellow button it seems to go through its normal process, as soon as i take it off, it gives all these errors. I think the switch for the battery in the boot might be faulty as i cant get the 'check battery off switch' to go off, no matter how much i press the button.. should there be a light on the button to indicate if its on or off?

Not an expert but I remember on my old DB9 I had issues and error lights when replacing the battery and the dealer disconnected the battery fully and re connected it . They left it disconnected for about 15 minutes before reconnecting . Doubt if the switch is faulty .

From my recollection, make sure you hold down the batt reconnect button for several seconds, otherwise the relay will not latch. If it still doesn't work, may be a bad reconnect module rather than a bad disconnect switch.

What Silverspeed said... I had EXACTLY the same problem on my DB9... Disconnect the battery and leave it for Half an hour. Recopnnect, and hopefully the problem is gone. Mine was, and I didn't even have to press the yellow button. I had to reset the seats and windows. Hopefully, this will work for you.

good news, seems that the disconnect and reconnect worked... the relay is now working..

however, i now have another problem in that when i press the start button there is nothing, just seems to reset the dash

any ideas on this one?

When you have your foot on the brake to start are the brake lights coming on ?

I would disconnect battery again and leave for an hour or so then re connect . Don’t try to start immediately let everything boot up for a few minutes . See how that goes

still wont start, i have tried disconnecting the battery, replacing the relay and looking at the fuses. ODBII error is p115c - anyone shed any light on this before i get it towed to aston?

P115c is "Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Malfunction".

That code is

P115C OBDII fault code for Passive Disable Driver Interface triggered

Which I would guess at being related to the immobiliser?

i did look that up - seems its this:

Fault Code Definition
P115C - Disable driver interface. triggered.
MIL Status
This code will light the MIL lamp.
P115C Fault Analysis
Note: This code indicates that the transmission has
detected a fault and as a result has requested that the
engine be shut down.
The driver may report that the engine has appeared to
stall.
1. Connect the WDS. Read and note all logged PCM
and TCM DTCs. Confirm that P115C is logged.
Clear all fault codes.
2. Resolve all other faults and then retest the vehicle.


ive tried disconnecting the battery and shorting the connectors when they are disconnected to clear the fault.. but still no joy..!
