Sometimes a spring can come out of where it's supposed to sit, jack it up again and have a look. If it's out of the seat then while jacked up prise it back in with a long screwdriver or tap it in with a hammer and keep your hands out of the way.

Is it different to how it was before you did the pads?

If you take a tape measure to most cars they sit at a slight angle, so could it have been this different before, or has it definitely changed when you did the pads?

Rumour has it that a batch of cars left the factory in 1986 with the the rear spring platforms welded in the wrong place. My 350i was lop-sided at the front and resisted all attempt to correct it until I bit the bullet and put a spacer above the relevant rear spring. It worked a treat, and improved the handling no end too! It was lower on the driver's side.
