Probably find there are loads on both sides (south seas especially). Not researched it and don't really care but to put the proverbial non partisan completely unbiased and without and proof or foundation boot in (nice flashy yellow one with red stripes and a posh makers name on the side)..... football players are more fashion orientated by nature.....

Just to clarify, how are you associating tattoos with education?

Freddie flintoff has tattoos.

As does - Stokes and KP did too.

However proof it is not just talented cricketers who have Tatoos, Jade Dernbach also had some.

Is anyone serious equating Tatoos with Intelligence ? Everyone surely knows Einstein had a tatoo of two Succubi on his butt cheeks.

Chelsea currently have a pretty tattoo free team. Victor Moses has some, but that's about it.

Every summer the girls in the park near my office reveal plenty of tattoos, it's the exception for one not to have any. However I did happen to glance at a charity nude calendar produced by educated young ladies at a reasonably prestigious university, and after considerable study I can confirm none of them had tattoos.

Tattoo = council, football which was predominantly a working class sport = council

I played rugby up until my early 30s

Body adornment is a way of attracting more attention to yourself and as such occurs in every sport/way of life. Social trends are obviously an influence.

In Sc0tt's defence, the OP has been edited since after his post to remove a mention of cricket.

sorry OP there are loads of rugby players who have tats - a couple more examples below. And that's before you really start looking at the teams from the S/H

Not always. Gorgeous Gus in the Victor comic of the 1960's was an Earl, and his butler used to put the ball on the penalty spot for him.

When he kicked it hard, it took the ball (and the goalie) straight through the back of the goalnet.

Dame Judy Dench has tattoos, I don't think she's a rugby player.
