Virgin V6 vs SkyQ
Discussion
I wonder has anyone used both yet?
I was on Virgin originally with Tivo and moved over to SkyQ. Sky won't give me a static IP and their broadband speeds aren't great in comparison so I'm thinking of jumping back to Virgin.
Really do like the SkyQ set up though and I have 2 extra mini boxes so it may be that I just keep Sky for TV and get Virgin broadband, undecided yet.
What's the V6 box like in comparison? What are the drawbacks and benefits vs SkyQ?
They don't do the equivalent of a mini box so would I need 3 V6 boxes to retain similar functionality?
Any advice appreciated. I've done the usual Googling but there's nothing definitive and I'd quite like some real world feedback.

I am on Virgin at the moment, the broadband is excellent but the V6 box is not that great.
I used to have Sky HD and it was really good, slick menu's, rarely went wrong and the picture was excellent. The V6 box in comparison is slow with a clunky interface and has worse picture. I am told it's better than before but I still have to reboot fairly often because something has stopped working, it randomly swaps back to PCM rather than Dolby digital for audio and it seems to spend a lot of time with a spinning wheel when trying to start a recorded TV show. I am told that I am supposed to be able to stream recorded TV from one V6 box to another...but it's never worked. My dad has the SkQ box and from the limited exposure I've had to it I've been impressed...just seems to me that the V6 is still a generation or more behind Sky.
What I am going to do is mix and match, get the SkyQ box and keep the virgin broadband/phone....just waiting for my 12 months to be up.

I’ve got Q the in laws have the V6,we both have VM fibre. In a nutshell Sky wins over Virgin in every aspect hands down.
Personally I hate the layout of the Virgin OS and it’s nothing different to the old TiVo boxes. Sky just seems slick and more premium. Oh and the 4K content is a million times better on Sky too, that’s because Virgin have next to nothing apart from Netflix and YouTube content.
