...will we see it in other models?

Given the investment needed by Porsche, and the GT4 and Spyder being a bit niche, could we also see a back-to-basics 911 with a NASP flat six? A kind of GT3-lite with manual 'box? As a regular production model I reckon it could sell well.

Just a thought I had while munching my lunch smile

I'd highly doubt it.... but they did bring back the 3.8 from the 997 for the 981 GT4 & Spyder - that said that engine was only just out of production... this 3 or 4 years later now - with no recent NA apart from the GT3.

The 3.8 in the 981 GT4/Spyder came from the (current at the time) 991 Carrera S, not the 997.

I just thought if they were investing in a new engine they might use it elsewhere....

Yep sorry - 991... that'll teach to stay of PH whilst on conference calls!! But i think those PU's and cars just missed each other in terms cars on the road.I could be wrong here... dunno.

Essentially covered by the current 911T apart from the na bit, clearly.

Indeed, although the cynic in me sees the 'T' as a marketing ploy to sell a few base Carreras before the 992 comes along.

I'd like to see a 992-based old-skool NASP model, but maybe Porsche will just use the engine for the GT4/Spyder and increase the price accordingly.

I honestly don’t see this happening...I think it’ll be a forced induction motor. The same publications claiming the GT4 will be N/A claimed the 991.2 GTS would be..

Dream on, its all over for the F6 NASP in anything other than the remaining 991 GT cars. It might sell well but its emissions will mean it never happens frown

It's all but confirmed in the GT4/Spyder, so if they can make it clean enough in those cars it can go in others...

It pains me to say it, but the idea is definitely clutching at straws.
The 992 from the outset is designed around turbo's and later on hybrid tech.
By the time they'd get around to any specials we'll be even further down the emissions road.
If they've any capacity for NA one would imagine the only "room" for it will be the GT3 - even that seems a slim chance sadly.

A very appealing thought nonetheless! Imagine a driver focused NA regular 911... It's hard to believe the ship has sailed for something so simple...
