Paid for Gas, their system is incorrect, letters sent.
Discussion
I'm pretty sure I'm safe but I'm asking to see what the opinion is.
Moved house, place has a bulk gas tank, ran low, called the number on the side, arranged a delivery and paid the full rate. Was told an account would be set up in my name and then it would be credited with the difference of a decent tariff rate.
The account was set up yet I've been recieving letters asking for payment with the last one threatening it going to the collections team.
Numerous calls over the last 6 weeks have accertained that my payment was credited to the previous tenents account. There has been a note on my account asking for it to be credited from that account to mine but nothing has been done.
Called again today, after recieving another letter, and they're chasing it up. They don't know why this is happening. This is the third time I've chased in two weeks.
I have an unblemished credit history and want it to stay that way.
Is there anything I can do to ensure that even if they keep sccrewing up, I won't have anything held against me.
I've heard that once you have something against you even in error, its a royal pain to have it cleared and there's alway an issue with it.
Thanks in advance.
