Lease for £300 per month
Discussion
Seem to be struggling to find something decent for the above price per month on a 24-36 month lease.
Never leased before and am looking to possibly do it this year but my stumbling block seems to be my mileage which is around 20,000 per year.
Soon as I say that I do that amount of miles, prices shoot up way beyond the £300 a month and it becomes unaffordable for me.
So you know what I was hoping for, I don't want to be driving around in a Vauxhall Corsa or Ford Ka+! I was hoping for something a bit premium like a Golf GTI or Audi A3 but seem to be way off with that! Most of my cars have been hot hatches in the past, although I did not do as many miles as I do now. Basically I'd like something with some poke but also well specced as I am a bit of a sucker for technology!

You have to bear in mind that adding alot of miles to a car will only help to make it worth less at the end and drop it's value. On a lease, you are essentially funding the depreciation of the car, so it's always going to cost you more with the more miles than you pile onto it.
I'd say that you're setting your standards too high. Golf GTI's are already just under the £300 per month mark for around 8k mileage, so 20k will be out of the question. Best place to search would be on Contract Hire and Leasing and see what car be had for that mileage and budget.

Not a hot hatch, but does handle well.

Can add miles for reasonable extra cost 20k total is circa £200 per month

Leon Cupra £291 6+23 20k p.a. https://www.contracthireandleasing.com/independent...
Option 1- keep searching for the right deal. Most bump the price up loads at 20k miles, but some dont. The Leon example posted above is a decent example, but I think I am right in saying I have seen even smaller differences.
Option 2 - dont forget to consider paying excess mileage. This is what I did on my old car. Many VW group cars seem to be about 7ppm, so the extra 10k miles only adds £700 a year.

If you lease £300 a month over 36 months that's £10800 in total with nothing at the end, I would get a loan or a good 0% credit card for that much and buy something interesting, you wouldn't have to worry about mileage then
No, just break downs, repairs and almost certainly higher maintenance costs. Im not saying you er wrong of course though! If you lease £300 a month over 36 months that's £10800 in total with nothing at the end, I would get a loan or a good 0% credit card for that much and buy something interesting, you wouldn't have to worry about mileage then
