California Motorsports (CMS)

I found CMS when visiting the American LeMans Series website. Some of the Porsche teams list their contact information. So, I called them looking to speak with their transaxle mechanic. Two of the teams (out of three I called) referred me to CMS, as did a separate source.

I have been talking with Bobby (owner and chief mechanic) for a couple of months now. He is very understanding of people like me that know nothing about T/A setup. We have been sourcing G50/XX transaxles for my build. Got one!

I am not affiliated with CMS in any way, but thought anyone interested should know about them. CMS holds a pattent on a cable shift for the G50 (yes!), and they have been doing T/A rebuilds for about 24 years. CMS have been the supplier to many "well known" transaxle "builders" in the USA. From what I can tell, they do excellent work and their pricing is extremely competitive.

I use a similar Morse system in my GTR G50 made by Cable Shift of Phoenix Arizona. Needed a little fettling to make a slick change though. You might want to check them out?

if you dont mind ne asking how much was the box/rebuild? also do they offer uprated gear clusters for the higher power applications?
