VWFS Lease Deal ending and MOT

Hi Guys,

I've got a VW Tiguan which is on PCH...... was originally 2 years but extended by another year. It's due back early May.

We've had a letter saying we need to MOT it, not got to much of an issue doing this but would rather not have the expense etc.

Do they have to force us to do it? Can I just hand it back the week before and arrange collection then and not do it?

any ideas?

Literally I guess the mot is due the day or so they will want to collect it and take it back.

I think I'll just get it handed back early and avoid it... Just wandered if that was OK or will I get charged anyway for an mot...

You do know an mot is about 35 quid lol

Ask them, they’re not there to catch you out.

My understanding is if the car is still in your care when the MoT is due then you need to MoT it, if you hand it back early then you don’t, but just give them a call and ask.

I wouldn't expect a straight answer. I never did when my Scirocco was due to go back on it's 3rd year. They didn't have a clue about the final service and just said if the light comes on, then you need to get it done.

The service light came on a few weeks early and the MOT due on it's 3rd birthday. Gave the car back literally the day before, didn't get it serviced or MOT'd. Didn't hear anything back about it whatsoever.
