I know it's been done before, but I am struggling choosing a descent oil filter. I have messaged a couple of sellers to ask if filters they are selling have the non return valve, but they don't seem to be sure. Is it safe to assume the taller filters will have the valve?

Cheers

I've always used Fram PH2821A's.

If you look at the ‘Wedge Part Numbers’ on top of the page you’ll see that Unipart GFE 295 and Fram 2821A are listed. These are both the longer filters and as far as I’m aware these both have the non return valve. I have used both and both seem to do the job well especially the morning start for reaching required oil pressure quickly or should I say quicker than most other filters.

Gents, only last week I tried to order the Unipart or Fram filters and they weren't readily available. I therefore bought one of these which does have the non-return valve. TVR Parts also stock oil filters and the price is cheaper than the one I bought.

GFE 295 is still available on the bay auction but with the postage works out about the same
as the one you bought.

I bought one from my local factors last week. £11ish. Available the next day.

A certain Mr Cake did my oil change last Sunday and is well.

Thanks fellas, I've gone for one of the Mann filters. I was a little wary of the Fram as there seem to be quite a lot of negative posts about them, although I know there is a certain amount of that on the web for most things, just playing safe. The main thing is I wanted to make sure it had the ADV.

I bought a job lot of filters 6 months back and will bring some to the fest if people are interested in a baargin.

i had to get a decent qty to get the price down, much much less than £12 ;^)

One on the 400SX now and it does the job well, plus at that price I can now afford to change them every 3k miles.
