Essentially they are testing 3D printing in steel for very low production run items where they either don't have the tooling or the setup costs would be unworkable. They quote the clutch release lever for a 959. Resulting parts get pressure tested and x-rayed, so they're not going to be banging them out at a tenner.
But a really welcome development that should be beneficial to all the long-lifetime marques.
