Following on from the sad stories in the "divorcing empty nesters" thread, let's hear some happy stories of marriages and kids. Let's hear the good and happy news!

There must be people out there wanting to share their good fortunes!

My grandparents celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary last year.

I've been married nearly 2 years, and I have a 5 week old daughter.

Although none of us are getting much sleep at the moment, which makes every little thing seem like a stupid big thing, we couldn't be much happier right now.

We have been married for 41 years. Two kids both doing really well and turned out to be lovely people too which is probably the most important bit.
Certainly ups and downs over the years but come through it all together. Guess I better touch wood having said all that!

It's my 10 year anniversary on Saturday. Been together 18 1/2 years. Two kids aged 6 and 3. We've had ups and downs over the years, nothing serious. We are also good friends and work as a team at home.

My wife is amazing and I love her very much.

Not married and never will be, but we've been together for 24 years (lived together for nearly all of that) and have two amazing children who will be 17 this year.

We've had two phases to our relationship so far, before the kids, and now with the kids. The third phase, post kids, is coming up and we have been making plans for at least 12 months about all the stuff we are going to do once the kids move out to go to Uni.

Life is much easier when you have somebody to share it with and they are pulling in the same direction, both the good and the bad bits of life.

I couldn't be with somebody who doesn't make an effort to want to share yours and their life with you but I don't think that takes a huge amount of effort to do that.

Somebody who just wanted to sit in front of the TV occasionally grunting in response rather than going out and actually living life would drive me away very quickly.

Clearly your relationship has been a success.

Any particular reason to have never gotten married just out of interest ? I'm not saying you should by the way

I’m always reluctant to post on these threads incase I end up in the match dot com and bitter blokes threads in the next ten years,

I’ve been married for 14 years and have 3 kids. I feel much happier now than before I met my wife or had children. My wife and I share everything, (finances, problems etc) and are pretty open and honest. It seems to work for us,

For us it is just a bit of paper, the kids and the house are a bigger commitment than marriage. Once you have had kids it is very difficult to be completely rid of any ex unless you are prepared to give up on the kids entirely.

Good for you...I remember those days. I hate to say it but, make them last. You will wish they were babies for a lot longer than they are. My two are a lot older now and whilst they are good girls we look back fondly.

Crack on with it - after uni ours came back! And they were the more usual staggered ages so as the second was starting uni the other finished.

yes

We've been together 24 years, married 17 and have 3 kids aged 10,7&7. I can honestly say we're more in love than ever and have matured as a team. I can't say I miss the baby years though, but having twins made it quite intense. hehe
