Ok, I know I don't know the circumstances of the demise of the Chimaera in the pictures, but IMHO it's good to be reminded from time to time what damage can be done by these V8 powered plastic buckets.

I do really hope they did walk away from it too

I just hope those front tyres were not the cause of the accident they look seriously worn to me.

It looks worse in the pictures because all the "extra" bits that got strewn around in the accident have been dumped into the car on the drivers seat (most noteably the suspension & rear wishbones). Either way, still a very serious bump !

Yep, I was going to say the same, if you remove all the debris then its mainly the boot area that has been destroyed - don't get me wrong its still a massive impact.

Not sure why its sick to post it though as it serves as a reminder to all - take it steady and keep your P&J in good shape.

I don't see anybody calling the government sick when they run those adverts about what happens if you don't wear your seatbelt, or smoke too much and fat will come out of your veins.

Are the salvage companies sick for posting 1000's of images of destroyed cars that they'd like to sell bits off?

Yip it looks far worse than it really is,the chassis is incredibly strong appart from side impact and roll over protectiion which is nill,still scares the sh1te out of me if im hit in these areas.

I don't think we should be presuming that there were no other vehicles involved. The car might have been sat by the lights and hit from behind.

Someone I work with had a similar looking accident but on the front in a Cerbera (someone came round a blind bend on the wrong side of the road). The bodywork totally disintigrated , but luckily he got out without a scratch. In his words the chassis did what it was supposed to do and protected him.

Passenger compartment looks OK. Can't see any blood either. Car looks pretty shagged though. Handy spare front end for someone though ...

Whether it was the accident cause or not, who would drive their TVR around on such worn tyres? Doesn't bode well for the maintenance attitude of the owner IMO.
