Picked up last weekend for a very reasonable amount of money... comes with cup pack, upgraded stereo, 19" wheels, heated leather interior and the all important R.S. monitor!
I have already had the wheels refurbished by a local company who powdercoat all sorts of metals!
Timing belt and water pump replaced 3 months ago. New discs and pads at the same time( two of the big jobs on these cars). With 60000 miles it still feels very tight.
Performance wise the car is amazing! With the R.S. monitor changed to extreme mode the car is an animal which will take a look of getting used to! Planning a big clean up this weekend to make it perfect ! Cost £6800 after a lot of negotiation but to say the least I am loving Renault ownership so far!!

I was after a new car for a while, wife has a 4x4 so went for the megane 250. On reviews alone it was an easy choice. Price per smile is unbelievable. It's has a very firm ride but that's to be expected. The mpg is also amazing for what it can do! I could not advise enough to try one out!
From reading previous replies the RS monitor was one of the options to go for. The monitors main feature being the ability to change the throttle map between a range of settings. I thought it was a gimmick to be fair but glad this has it included as going from a progressive mode to extreme mode there is a noticeable difference. This car does not have the recaros unfortunately but has heated leather which sort of makes up it. In terms of price I know it was a good deal but to be air the valuations given by large websites were saying around 7 - 7.5k so people asking 10k are really asking a premium price!
Well I am only basing this on my own experience because I have never been in a non cup car but there is a limited slip diff on the cup models and the non cups do not have this feature. The limited slip diff is amazing on the megane and helps to control the power. Without this you will probably still have a fast straight line car but the handling and cornering speed will not be a patch on the cup. From my little experience of using the Megane with Cup pack the ride is very firm but doesnt bother me all that much even on the daily commute (small amount of miles)
