New TTRS coupe/roadster
Discussion
Hi all
Looking for some advice on the above- am coming out of an Aston Vantage- and considering the above. Aston is owned but looking to take a chunk of cash out to fund a house purchase( I’m In a lucky place , I know!).
Any good deals out there on these things on PCP- looking to put about 5k in and approx 10k per annum.
Also- any “must have” options on these cars? Driving tomorrow so looking forward to the engine- will miss the V8 howl tho!!
Thanks!!

Not an RS (I wish) but I have a mk3 TT Quattro.
IMO the TT's virtual cockpit is one of its selling points and the optional sat nav/tech pack is essential.
Not sure what the RS standard spec is but I optioned climate control and folding mirrors on mine.
Of course all of this should be standard on a £40k car never mind a £60k car but that's Audi for you!

The interior of the Audi will feel a little low rent after the aston, no leather door cards in the TT
The RS gets sat nav as standard along with the digital air con controls.
Bang @ Olufsen would be the only option I'd recommend over standard.
Then you'll have to decide on Mag ride, or no Mag ride, and whether you want the red stitching on the seats etc...

The roadster hasn't sold that well so there should be some decent deals out there.
People on the TT forums are talking about 9% discount off new orders, but you'll have to play the dealer off against one of the online discount companies.
I went to the TTRS after a couple of Porsches, I miss the "special" feeling of the Porsches, the TT is an impressive machine for point to point driving but doesn't have pride of ownership feeling of a Porsche/Aston.
TTRS = fantastic piece of machinery for driving fast on average roads that are not racetrack smooth.
You can turn out of a junction on a wet day on throttle and the car sorts it's self out, and off it goes. Haven't tried it without traction control.
The best thing about the TT is the noise, go find a tunnel, it's certainly a car with drama, and that's what hooked me on the initial test drive.
What you will need to get used to is the lack of instant power that the Vantage will have, you do get used to it, but it may disappoint you at first, a good two second delay when you throttle it to overtake.
I'm reading on the forums that the newer cars have less pops/crackles than the 2016 models, and Audi are applying an update to existing cars to quieten them down, I have refused the update on mine, don't want to lose the best feature of the car. It's the 24 DK update and some owners are furious that they've lost some of the drama of the car. So if you're ordering new perhaps question Audi over this.
Of all the cars I've had the TTRS is the easiest to drive fast. But I'm missing all the extra leather I had in the Porsches.
But at the moment I don't know what I could change the TT for without spending a lot more cash. I looked at a new 911 GTS which I loved, similar performance to the TT but at £110,000 with options I declined.
I think now that the RS is dropping to near 40k they are worth having.
