Range Rover p38 love affair.
Discussion
Many see the P38 as the last proper RR, it is probably the last that can be worked on relatively easily, unlike the L322. I am a RRC owner so pre BMW😀, but as with any vehicle it is usually special editions or low survival rates that have most bearing on value; me, I'd keep it but then I am a sucker for older vehicles that work
I've had my P38 for 10 years and 60,000 miles. It is getting a little baggy now, but I just love it. It has been very reliable and good on fuel on lpg.
I think I will spend some serious dosh on it soon. The way I see it is that it isn't worth a lot as it gets used most days. And for towing and as a van. If I were daft enough to want an L322 etc I would need to find about £10K for a reasonable one, so £3K on the P38 makes sense.

Yes, it is good to see P38 getting some recognition!
Nearly 2 years with my 2000 2.5DSE and I am still captivated by its charms.
Imperious driving position, quality traditional interior that still smells of leather plus enough classic cred to do the occasional show. There's a lot to like for a sub £2K car.
Money pit? Not so far. Timely DIY maintenance and a friendly indy specialist for the more difficult stuff seems to work OK for me.
Values are bound to follow the Classic model eventually and I don't mind waiting. If the cost of looking after it gets covered by rising value, even in the long term, I'll be well pleased.
