Ok Second question... (p.s. Not sure how to get these into the correct discussion group, I'm starting in Gassing Station >> TVR and I'm in Wedges, If that's wrong please advise and or move it)

Question is, do the crossbar and vertical supports lift straight out upwards (it is a convertible thank goodness).

The bottom bits are very rusty (i.e. If I wait a bit longer I'll be able to hoover the whole thing out as rusty dust)

I haven't taken the hood and pivots off yet as I want to maintain the structural integrity while I do the outriggers, but it looks as though it wont lift straight up in one piece.

Thanks

Are you on the Facebook Wedge Owners UK forum? If so then Stuart (Wedged up) has recently removed the supports, cross bar etc as is had turned to rust/dust also. There's a set of photographs of the bits and rusty pieces. As far as I can see the items unbolted and lifted straight out.

Thanks for the heads up... No I'm not on Facebook, as a retired computer (so-called) expert I try to avoid Twitter snapchat Facebook etc etc.

However I'll use my wife's account to have a look.

Thanks Again

It's a closed group so you will need to ask for access first. There's around 550 members on it and very helpful technically. There are several full body off rebuilds going on at the moment so lots of rusty and not so rusty chassis photos. One of the guys is rebuilding his SEAC and has stripped it back to the chassis so again lots of useful information. Cheers Keith

Brilliant, thanks, good to know they do come out.

Except I've already removed the seatbelts entirely, but they didn't explode smile Perhaps they are biding their time?
