I'm not sure where the right area of PH is for this question, but know there's some knowledgeable people on here: I'm looking to buy a bike frame which Giant bikes do not sell in any market other than Romania (to the best of my knowledge to date) - how do I go about finding someone in Romania who'd be willing to ship it directly to me? Right now, google isn't much help (I have no idea how to find Romanian shops on Google) and I can't even find out how much the frame would cost.

Any help much appreciated.

Have you tried searching for 'giant bicycles romania'?

I did, and the first result was to https://www.giant-bicycles.com/ro

On there you will find a menu 'Dealeri' which probably means 'Dealers'.

You can then search for a dealer, by typing in one of the locations you can see on the map provided.

I'm not entirely sure how I missed that, but thank you! Although I've only found 1 place that sells it so far...

You could go, buy it and take it to the ups / fedex shop to send it back to yourself

Try calling their only European plant and asking them a) if it's only Romania and b) Will they sell you one from the factory directly, rather than them shipping it to Romania just ship it direct to you.

Also try Linked In Netherlands to find a sensible person to ask to talk to, before calling, to have the right conversation rather than a computer says no admin level.

Given Giants operating model it could be as easy as going into one of their own shops and asking. You never know and must be easier...

They may not regularly do it but if they've over produced the model they may well ship it over.

Already tried that and was flatly dismissed, sadly. Will try a different store though smile

Have you tried speaking to the UK distributor direct?

Ebay romania? or whatever is the equivalent.
Use a cycling forum and find a member located there.
Search for any PHers living there and pm'ing them

Or an excuse for a road trip (assuming available off the shelf).

there are always vans coming from romania delivering stuff and taking it back or get on the Romanian mini bus (they go from London) straight through unless you want to fly!

I get my winter tyres from Ro, number of tyre manufacturers have plants there and they are less than a third of the price over here.
I pay £1 per kilo, for delivery from Timisoara to a bloke with a minibus. Works out well if you can wait 4/5 days for a delivery.
