i have my 996 c2 cab 1999 T reg with 59,000 up for sale, it's in great condition and has full PSH yet even though I thought 33k was a good price I'm getting offers about £30k ? Is 33k that unreaslistic? Have 996s taken that much of a hit since the 997 came out?

Arran what colour ie lapis blue with savanah (leather) or silver with black actually makes a big diference believe it or not

i.e. if its lapis with savanah probably right at about 30k (miles a little high versus other stuff)

if silver with black then 32 ish

just been looking at these and spent most of last year thinking about 993 or 996 and did loads of resarch if it helps

Having done a several searches on autotrader I have never seen a good colour combination (silver black or black / silver) 99 car at 30K and I probably looked every week for about 6 months and it seems like a good spec as well.

So 33k looks pretty resonable to me providing its in good nick the only couple of things I can think are as follows :

1. 996 not getting great press about engine failures at moment

2. Its not quite summer yet maybee wait a couple of months i.e. may / june when the sun comes out

3. I can't see a n 80K 997 having much impact on a 33K 996 must be two different markets.

4. 33k for a private sale without a warranty ? wouldn't bother me but may bother others not sure

5. Where have you advertised it ? Top marques / autotrader / times

Hope this helps a bit I would say for what its worth sit it out for another 6 weeks unless you are desperate to part with it

Hi arran, try topmarques - but i think £31 / max £32 k is fair. I know a lot of private people advertise unrealistically but don't always achieve these values.

I also have looked for a while and missed a 99t c2 with full gt3 kit 55k miles which went to a dealer for £27k and also turned down 99t c4 (wanted rwd)36k miles for £31k. Good luck with selling - may get more, just my opinion.

No not cabs but think the c4 with lower miles may be comparable.

Philb - if you are still seriously looking - email me via profile.

Were these at auction or something? Sounds very very cheap, either that or I've really droped a B0110#k on the 996..... I thought 911s were meant to retain value.... mine looks to have lost an average of 540 per month at this rate.....

I think 33 is in the ballpark, but if you aren't getting any interest just start to drop the price slowly imho. Have you looked at similar cars on autotrader, as you need to be in the lower quartile of those to get a sale imho. Also don't kid yourself and price at dealer levels

edit : I've just checked autotrader, and you seem to be very competitively priced. Are you advertising in top marques etc as it shold shift at that level, especially if the sun comes out.

Weren't at auction but like I said did miss the one with gt3 kit and would have paid more for it. Good luck with the sale - if its a nice car i'm sure you'll get good money.
