what car - out of my comfort zone.
Discussion
I think I want something big. I don't know much about big. Largest car Ive had would be either the e39 5 series or the mk2 ovtavia. I'd like to move away from saloons and into a high driving position.
I hired a med sized van last week and had a right giggle as I towered over the lowly peasants in their - well the cars I'd normally drive.
Is there an option that still drives alright* and isn't a mommy suv, because that is certainly not what im after.
Got a 4 year old so want to fit her and mother in with space remaining for the junk they both require hauling everywhere.
So, bit of size, bit of height and a bit of power would be nice. Rear wheel drive would be a bonus, or 4x4 if that's the bracket im jumping into.
Ther's got to be something between Ranger rover vogue and Qashqai
*Like a cayman
Looking downt he cheaper end so max £4k but lower is better.
Open to all suggestions at this point.
Cheers.

If you've taken your brave pills, how about a V8 Cayenne?!

Subaru Forester

Subaru Legacy Outback:

3.0 F6 IIRC...
ETA: This 56-reg 3.0-litre is slightly over budget at £4,300, but looks quite tidy (bar the mucky driver's carpet)... (the only 3.0-litre nationally on Auto Trader (at the time of searching)):

Mazda CX-7, has the same engine as the Mazda 6 MPS, or what about a Nissan Murano, with the 3.5 V6.
Or an Infiniti EX37 - if you can find one. Auto Trader has all of two EX30d listings. If you can live with the looks:
