Looking to change my Mondeo estate (58 plate), to a smaller one as I no longer tow a caravan,

Have around 5K to spend

I have found the below in my range, any best to avoid?

Avoid the diesel 308SW, much DPF problems.

Kia ceed same as the i30. We have just got a 09 Kia Pro ceed for the daughter and its a nice bit of kit. Both the petrol and diesel 1.6 are chain driven so no cambelt to worry about.

S'cuse Mister! We have a C5 1.6hdi coming up for 300k and no DPF issues at all.

But I do suppose it makes a difference how much driving the OP is going to do.

I spoke to my local mechanic and he says the same as you with them, its down to how you use the car.
Driving is mix with some motorway driving.

Are you sure you want to downsize that much.

A Mondeo (hatch?) seems the better motor than the others.

It's exactly the same as a B7 A4 so a bit smaller than a mondeo
