Going from a 525d SE to a 535d M-Sport?
Discussion
Currently got a 2013 525d (with the 2.0 engine).
One of the nicest cars i've had, so I'm looking at another 5 series, but want a bigger engine. I like the idea of the power behind the 535d, but seeing as 99% of 3.0 F10 bmw's are now M-Sport, I'm unsure.
I like the comfort in my SE, and i'm worried that going to an M Sport on 19's will make it less enjoyable.
I'd rather go for the brand new 530d model as they make an SE version (with performance that matches the F10 535d in the x-drive) but the price is too high at the moment.
I cant be arsed driving 4 hours to view the car if it's going to be uncomfortable. I had a vectra VXR before the 525 and while I loved it, and the engine, the sole reason for selling it was the shattering ride on the 19's and spending my life dodging potholes. The council round here spend our money on holidays and parties, so the roads are some of the worst i've ever seen, which again makes me warey about getting a an M Sport on 19's.
Any advice?

I wouldn't bother so much whether it has 18" or 19", but I'd ask the VIN number and check which suspension option your desired car has.
M sport would mean fixed M sport suspension, dynamic damper control (DDC), adaptive drive (AD, only available on 6 pots) or in rare case deleted M sport suspension, so just standard suspension.
They are all different. SE with DDC or AD should feel the same as an M sport with DDC or AD, given it has same rims and tire setup.

My first F10 was a 530d SE. I now have a 530d M Sport. Both were on 19 inch wheels, but the SE did not have M Sport suspension and the SE does.
I have nothing negative to say about the change beyond my loss of LED indicators. The ride is fine - it doesn't feel worse than the SE, if anything the better body control makes the car more pleasant to drive.
Don't discount the 530d btw - I found the performance between 535d and 530d to be similar enough that I didn't really have a preference which I bought and ended up with a 530d.
