Alfa 159 3.2 Brake Servo Problem
Discussion
In the mornings after standing all night the brake pedal on my 159 feels solid and a firm push doesn't move it much nor does the car feel like stopping when coming out of the drive. If you start the car and leave it running for a minute without moving it the brakes are fine.
My trusty mechanic said i's probably a leaking brake servo - or a leak somewhere in the system, but on the 3.2 the servo is buried near the firewall, just behind the pedals and is a pain to get to.
Before we go down the route of dismantling, is this an issue anybody else has had and was it a leaky servo or is there a common fault elsewhere in the braking system that's easier to check and repair first?
I think the servo location only applies to the V6 models so it could be a niche 3.2 problem.
Thanks in advance.
