Discussion
I know that these may not be seen as direct rivals but I am looking to replace my 2015 Focus Zetec S and at the moment I am considering either Golf R estate or a BMW 430I Gran Coupe. Looking at low mileage, 2017 onwards models.
Need a bigger boot than the Focus and something with more performance and is a bit more "special".
I have an MK Indy kit car fitted with a carbed Fireblade bike engine as a toy.
Use is as a daily commuter, 20 miles each way on mainly free running A and B roads plus the usual longer motorway trips for holidays and weekends away.
Any comments/thoughts, experience of each,
other options?

An alternative is the Seat Leon Cupra:

Personally I would always go for the Golf R Estate. I actually prefer the Estate to the hatch.Need a bigger boot than the Focus and something with more performance and is a bit more "special".

Also you can get some cracking lease or PCP deals for the Golf. Could be cheaper than buying second hand if you lease.
