Hello PH,

Car history:

mkiv Supra
SL55AMG
BMW M3 (V8)
AMV8V

And I’ve just relocated to Switzerland, and won’t need a car for daily commute.

I’d like something fun to drive, that also won’t be a total pain on autobahn runs.

Budget really is anywhere between £5k and £40k which sounds ridiculous in a sense but there’s quite a lot out there and I’m struggling to narrow it down.

Current contenders:

New boxster
Corvette Z06
GTR
GT86
RS4 Avant

The Swiss used car market isn’t huge but there should be something fun out there.

Recommendations and general thoughts appreciated smile

Is it much of a faff to go to Germany for example and get something there? I’d imagine prices may well be considerably less than in Switzerland?

Porsche Cayman is a good shout. Which gen? Boxster for some top-down fun does appeal mind you.

It’s not a complete faff to get to Germany and buy a car and import it, but would have to be a decent saving on a particular model to warrant the effort.

Ford Mustang was also being considered as it’s really quite a good deal over here.

I've driven two on road & track my uncle had one in the states (replaced by the GT350R) so I had a few opportunities drive it on road & track, the other was a drive from LA to Vegas & it didn't miss a beat, the one criticism I have from that long drive was that I felt the tank was too small but that may have been something to do with my right (yes I did rack up a few tickets) foot.
