Hi chaps,

When I bought my car - unbeknown to me - the dealer had helpfully refurbished two of the wheels. I dropped the ball I guess by not inspecting them thoroughly but didn't anticipate it would be an issue given it was 12 months old.

So ever since I've had it, two of my wheels have been the perfect factory finish and the other two have been generic wheel refurbishment silver. 18 months on the two factory finish wheels are still pristine save for some self inflicted curb damage and the two refurbished wheels are crap - every stone within 40 miles chips them, some of the lacquer has started peeling, etc etc. Infuriating especially as if I was suffering lacquer peel on the factory finish it'd presumably be a warranty job.

In some of the areas where the paint has been chipped you can see the beautiful factory finish peeking through frown So all they did was blow over the top of it, great..

So I'd like to get all 4 wheels properly refurbished to exactly the factory finish. But the trouble is, where? And how do I ensure they replicate the factory finish? I've seen conflicting views online as to what the exact colour code is of these wheels - some suggest it's 144 but that seems to have been the standard BMW wheel colour for decades and the 351M has a slightly deeper colour than typical silver. I really like the deep lustre of the factory finish and I am really keen to replicate it.

Has anyone else had a set of these properly refurbished or can offer any suggestions? I am happy to pay the going rate for the job to be done right - I am not after the cheapest option. I am in the South West but if travel is the only realistic option then I would consider that.

Lepsons have a good reputation for wheel refurbs.
