Question about using ARC between a receiver and a TV
Discussion
I've bought an amp the supports ARC and am getting a TV that also has it.
I was planning to so what I normally do - ie
(i) Plug a number of devices into the HDMI ports in the amp - Humax, PS4, Chromecast Video (CC)
(ii) Attach other things into the optical ports - Chromecast Audio (CCA)
(iii) Do the hybrid thing for the Wii - RGA cables into the TV, optical out to the amp
(iv) Have one able sending images up to the TV
But the TV I am looking supports 4K steaming of Netflix and Amazon. Someone suggested using the ARC channel between the TV and amp for this.
Is it possible to use one HDMI/ARC cable for theTV-driven stuff (Netflix/Amazon) and have a second HDMI for all the rest of the stuff coming out through the amp (as per normal)?
Or would I be better off forgetting ARC, streaming Netflix through the amp using the Chromecast and getting a Firestick to do the same for the Amazon content?

Yeah, same here, one HDMI cable from amp to TV. Amp set to whatever source you want to listen to, including TV when you want to use ARC.
Something that caught me out and had me scratching my head for a while when it wouldn't work is that on my Samsung TV they only seem to have ARC on HDMI port 4....I had just assumed it was port 1 same as every other TV I've ever had...I spent hours messing with the settings before I discovered that!

I assumed it would be 1 too. HDMI 2 on my LG. It is labeled though.mathmos said:
