New family wagon
Discussion
It's coming up to the time to sell my E91 325 touring while there's still some decent value in it to replace with something different. It's been a good work horse for a year, mpg around the high 20's which is decent for what it is and I would like a bit more from the next car.
I have a 1 year old so will need room for a pram and other bits, commute is 20 miles each way (mixture of a and b roads in, motorway back), would like something that's mildly amusing but will retain a reasonable amount of value after a year, mileage up to the 70's, budget of about £5k as I don't want finance. 4/5 doors a must, folding rear seats also.
Thoughts so far;
Seat Leon FR/ golf/ A3 - tfsi has some issues and the tdi also, not sure if either engine at the price point could be a time bomb
Mondeo or Mazda 6 - sensible in 2.0 petrol, 2.5 sport for Mazda. Perhaps a little mundane although it does tick a lot of boxes.
Astra Sri 1.6t - not really a vauxhall fan, seems to review well apart from the gearbox
Are there others I should consider?
