Hello all

I am looking at a November 2009 Golf with the 1.6 TDI Bluemotion engine and a DSG gearbox. As I understand it, that means it will have the DQ200 dry clutch gearbox.

Car is on 65k.

I understand that there are a few issues surrounding this gearbox. Could I ask what the latest in terms of recalls and known faults is?

Two big questions:
- Being an early car, would it have had mineral oil from the factory? I know that synthetic cars have been moved to mineral but read somewhere that the earliest cars would have had mineral oil.
- Would the car be subject to any recalls in the UK? I believe cars in other geographies were subject to a recall but I am not clear whether that applies in the UK.

Thoughts gratefully received!

I’m not sure I would want the emissions fix! What are the pros and cons?

Would also welcome views on the DSG questions...
