Hi

I want to create a route that I can follow using Sat Nav on my phone. Its basically the section of the Ride 100 route from Hampton Court Bridge back to Hampton Court Bridge via Surrey Hills and Esher. Tried using Google Maps but it only allows 10 destinations within a route??

Any tips greatly appreciated thumbup

Watching with interest as I regularly want to do similar but for hoon routes.

I find you can build them very well in google maps, when you open them on the phone (unless in safari where it doesn't actually direct you, but just shows it as a map) it will then recalculate to give you the most direct/quickest route, undoing all that you've plotted

Just split the route into stages? You can also drag routes on google maps to fine your preferred route. Do it on a pc and send to your phone

Does it have to be google maps? I cannot remember whether the free version provides what you're after, although have a look at ridewithgps.

i'm assuming we're all having the 'share with' issue that Google maps on a PC won't send the amended route to phone?

i got round it by using Tyre, creating route and dragging points around, then under View tab - send to google and you should get the route you created not the Google version.
not too sure if the Driving options work ie voice directions but on a bike who cares

Don’t use share with in google maps. Just create a link and email the link to the phone. Open the link on the phone.

doesn't work for me, the link when opened on phone just goes back to the default Google route.
I use Tyre to sort out routes etc for my Garmin and TomTom occasionally, i started by saving them as .kml or .kmz but then found by accident the shortcut .
if you use another mapping app so long as you can save as kml or kmz in theory it 'should' transfer to Google?
