I've got a 15 plate F11 520d M-Sport Touring auto, and generally I'm very pleased with it. I've got a couple of issues which is will be going back to the main dealer for, but I just wondered if anyone has had anything similar.

The main issue is this. I'm sat in traffic, the auto stop start is not on (i.e. the engine is always running) and as the traffic goes forward I'm leaving it in D, moving forward, stopping on the footbrake, holding it on the footbrake and then moving my foot from the brake to the accelerator to pull away again. We're talking heave traffic here, so I'm only gently tickling the pedals to get it to move along in the traffic. Not touching the gear lever or hand brake switch. Auto hold is not active.

About 6 times in 3000 miles of driving, it's as if a brake has somehow stuck on and then is released instantly. As I touch the gas, the car jerks forward quite violently, to the extent that the first few times it happened I thought the car behind had nudged into the back of me. Any ideas?

The other thing is quite a strange noise from the exhaust. It's actually a bit droney at lower revs, and it's particuarly noticeable with the rear seats folded down. From outside, the tailpipes sound a bit "spittier" than I'd expect. As it's a BMW approved used car, it's obviously got the standard exhaust on.

Any ideas on this one too?
